White Funeral Home Littleton – Darrel “Wilbur” Maines, 90 years old, of Littleton, IA, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at his home following a long illness. Wilbur was born May 24, 1928, in Pennsylvania, the son of Burtis Blair Maines and Virgie (Bumbarger) Maines. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Wilbur was united in marriage to Eileen Edith Close in Colorado Springs, CO. He worked at Frost Oil in Jesup, IA. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Eileen Maines of Littleton, IA; 2 sons, Edward “Ed” (Tina) Maines and Darrel (Cindy) Maines, all of Jesup, IA; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 brother, Chet Maines of Rapid City, SD; and 2 sisters, Bertha Buck and Helen Cupp, both of Clearfield, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 great grandson, Brett; 7 brothers, Bennie Maines, Robert Maines, Ralph Maines, Harry Maines, Harold Maines, Ernest Maines, and Walter Maines; and 3 sisters, Hettie Dixon, Violet Dixon, and Katherine Butterworth. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. - Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with Rev. John C. White presiding. Burial will be at the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, IA, with military honors by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post #342 of Jesup, IA. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 16th at White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday, at the funeral home.
