Independence – Dystany L. Moran, 25 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born on April 13, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Brad Lee and Shannon Marie (Espe) Johnson. She graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 2011. On September 21, 2017, she and Jacob Daniel Moran were married in Cozumel, Mexico. At the time of her death she worked at Corkery Transport in Jesup, Iowa. Dystany enjoyed baking and camping, 4 wheeling, and motorcycling with her husband. And due to the circumstances of her death and her caring spirit, she was able to be a multiple organ and tissue donor.
Dystany is survived by her husband, Jacob, her father, Brad Johnson of Hazleton, Iowa, her mother, Shannon Johnson of Oelwein, Iowa, 3 sisters, Mercedes (Emma Brandt) Brandt of Rochester, Minnesota, Alexis Johnson of Brandon, Iowa, and Starr Johnson of Independence, and her grandparents, Bernard and Louise Johnson and Richard and Debbie Espe, all of Independence, and Judith Reinhold of Hazleton, Iowa.
Visitation will be held on, Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 12 noon at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
