He was born on December 10, 1945, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Lloyd Alton and Marilyn Emily (Eicke) Wilson. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Independence. On November 6, 1964, he and the former Kathy Jo Beier were married at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Wilson farmed in Buchanan County, Iowa. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. For eight years he served on the Independence Community School Board and he was actively involved with the Buchanan Co. Relay for Life. Mr. Wilson was always willing to help friends and family with carpentry or mechanical projects. He enjoyed identifying a problem and then accomplishing a solution. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy, 3 sons, Kelly (Tammie) Wilson of Olympia, Washington, Korey (Sara) Wilson of Rowley, and Kirk (Angela) Wilson of Central City, Iowa, and 5 grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Collin Wilson, Tanner Wilson, and Kipton Wilson. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Velda Wilson of Mitchellville, Iowa, and Anogene (Dean) Varner of Cedar Rapids, and 1 sister-in-law, Linda Wilson of Olympia, WA. |
