White Funeral Home Jesup – James “Jim” Gregory John Everett, 57 years old of Jesup, Iowa, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle/car accident in Clayton County, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial at a later date in Lima Township Cemetery, Wadena, IA. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Monday, July 2nd at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jim was born July 30, 1960, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Gregory Charles Everett and Bernice Ann (Duffy) Everett. He graduated from West High School in Waterloo. On June 25, 1982, he was united in marriage to Phillena Kay Swyers in Gilbertville, IA. Jim served in the United States Marines from 1978 – 1990 and then became employed at Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo where he was currently a plant manager. He was a member of the Evansdale AmVets Post #30; Black Hawk Archers and the Northeast Iowa Motorcycle Club. Jim is survived by his wife, Phillena Everett of Jesup; three sons, Greg (Ashley) Everett of Sneads Ferry, NC, Johnathan “John” Everett (Nikki Le) of Sacramento, CA, Jacob (Dystany) Moran of Independence, IA; one daughter, Alexis Everett of Ames, IA; 3 grandchildren, Charolette, Caroline and Silas Everett; his mother, Bernice Coats of Belle Plaine, IA; and his step-mother, Dee De Padin of Texas; one brother, Jerry (Dawn) Everett of Ames, IA; and one sister, LuAnn (Mark) Bohan of Mosinee, WI. Also surviving are step-sisters, Patty (Duane) Hinrichs, Deb (Steward) Mass, Lanette (Scotty) VanNevel, Sam Greevs; and step brothers, Wayne Coats, David (Tara) Coats. Tim Greevs and David Greevs. Jim was preceded in death by one new born daughter, Katie Sue Everett; his father; paternal grandparents, Zeke and Lish Everett; step-father, Richard Coats and mother in law, Beverly Swyers . |
