Independence – Karen L. Catt, 57 years old, of Normal, Illinois, formerly of Independence, Iowa, died on Friday, May 18, 2018, at her home in Normal. She was born in Independence on November 16, 1960, the daughter of Charles McCormick and Anna Marie Tabbert Catt. She graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1979. She continued her education by earning an A.A. degree at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a B.A. degree from the Illinois State University in interior design. She was a personal assistant with the Department of Rehabilitation Services and Marc First in Illinois working with individuals in group homes. Ms. Catt was always interested in traveling to see new places, reading, genealogy, keeping in contact with friends, and exploring on line.
Ms. Catt is survived by her mother, Anna Marie Catt of Independence, 1 sister, Diane Catt of Seattle, Washington, and 2 brothers, Keith Catt and Neal Catt, both of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Sue Ann Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 12:30 p.m. on Friday until service time.
