White Funeral Home Jesup – Kristine Sue Dauth, 55 years old of rural La Porte City, IA, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at UnityPoint – Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, February 16, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City, IA, with Pastor Michael G. Ashman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the church and Cedar Valley Hospice. Kristine was born October 21, 1962, in Independence, the daughter of Norman Lyle Fernau and Helen Madeline (Versluis) Fernau. She graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1981. On April 30, 1983, she was united in marriage to Duane Walter Dauth at the Grace Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA. Together, they made their home just outside of Jesup. Kris worked for the State of Iowa as a technical systems administrator with the Iowa Court Information Systems division. Her most recent role was as a quality assurance technician. Kris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, the church bell choir, and was a past president of the church council. Kris enjoyed going to the family cabin in Minnesota and quilting, but most of all, she loved her caring husband, children, and grandchildren. Kristine is survived by her husband, Duane Dauth of La Porte City, IA; 1 son, Eric Dauth of La Porte City, IA; 2 daughters, Michaela (David) Woodward of Jesup, IA, Chelsea (Richard) Powers of Independence, IA; 8 grandchildren, Parker, Brendan, Maicey, and Kinley Woodward; Emersyn, Jenson, and Ainslee Powers; and Carter Dauth. Kristine is also survived by her mother, Helen Fernau of Raymond, IA; 4 brothers, Steven (Margie) Fernau, Dennis (Karmin) Fernau, John Fernau, David Fernau all of Waterloo, IA; and many extended family and friends. Her father, Norman Fernau preceded her in death. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA is in charge of arrangements. |
