Jesup – Bonita J. “Bonnie” Serfoss, 76 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, February 26, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA, of natural causes.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, March 3, 2018, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Jeffrey A. Dole as celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 2^nd at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a 4:00 p.m. – Catholic Daughters Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. – Vigil Service.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bonnie was born September 14, 1941, near Gilbertville, in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Martin Theodore Becker and Margaret Mary (Frost) Becker.  She graduated from Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, with the class of 1960.  On October 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Merrell Donald Serfoss in Raymond, IA.  They made their home and raised their family in Jesup, where Bonnie was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing scrabble and an occasional trip to the casino.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Merrell of Jesup; one daughter, Kim (Don) Roberts of Jesup, one son, Shawn Serfoss of Marion, 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Lavonne Heiselman of Jesup, Velma Klein of Monroe, WI, Joan Kessens of Jesup, Sherry Pyle of Sweetwater, OR, Marisue (Larry) Thompson of Diamondhead, MS; and 4 brothers, Dennis (Joyce) Becker of Jesup, Dean Becker of Raymond, Gary (Jerilyn) Becker and Terry (Teresa) Becker of Waterloo.

Her parents and one brother, Jerome “Buss” Becker, preceded her in death.
