Dwight A. Hertzberg |
White Funeral Home
Dwight lived at home with his parents and sister, Betty, until he was eight years old. Due to his special needs, Dwight received services at the MHI in Independence for four years and then at the Woodward Resource Center for the past 57 years. In recent years, Dwight lived at 101 Cherry and most recently at 103 Franklin. Dwight loved to be on the go and to people watch. He also enjoyed playful teasing with his support staff. Dwight is survived by his nieces, Melissa Ziegenhorn and Chuck Campbell and Katrina and John Newston, both of Springfield, Virginia. They both were loving advocates for Dwight after their mother, Betty, passed away. He is also survived by his friends and support staff at the Woodward Resource Center who greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Ziegenhorn. Friends and relatives will gather at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, before driving to Mt. Hope Cemetery for committal services. Rev. Scott Meador will be officiating. A special memorial service will be planned at a later date at the Woodward Resource Center. |
