Jesup – Gene N. Thomas, 80 of Jesup, IA died Thursday, November 16, 2017, at his home.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. – Monday, November 20, 2017, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.  The family will receive friends for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Gene Norman Thomas was born on February 7, 1937 at Dundee, IA, the son of Edith Bandy.

On December 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Jean Ann Brown at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.  He was employed at John Deere in Waterloo, IA, until retirement and was a member of UAW Local #838 in Waterloo.

Gene is survived by his wife, Jean of Jesup; one daughter, Emma (William, III) Venneman of Brandon, IA; two granddaughters, Ashley and Nicole.  He was preceded in death by his mother.
