Raymond – John D. Meyer, 67 of Raymond, IA, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA.  He was born December 20, 1949, in Chicago, IL, the son of Rev. Erwin Martin Meyer and Doris Ruby (Pierce) Meyer.  He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and then served in the US Army, 101^st Airborne from 1969 – 1972.  On November 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to Denise G. McGarvey at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairbank, IA.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, Denise of Raymond, IA; one son, David (Melissa) Meyer of Waterloo, IA; two daughters, Tara (Jason) Merrifield of Hiawatha, IA, Kathy (David) Green of Waterloo, IA; 6 grandchildren and his mother, Doris Meyer of Clay Center, Kansas.  His father and one sister, Marcia preceded him in death.

A celebration of John’s life will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.  There will be a Scripture service at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
