Independence – Jean M. Jones, 74 years old of rural Independence, IA, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at her home.  Graveside services were held 1:30 p.m. – Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Old Barclay Cemetery rural Jesup, IA, with Pastor Kristen Rod officiating.

Jean was born August 29, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of John R. Foy and Frances Anna (Stoe) Foy.  She graduated from Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, California.  On January 16, 1961 she was united in marriage to William Lee Jones in San Diego, California.  They later divorced.  She later met Kenneth Taylor and they have been together for over 20 years.

Jean is survived by her husband Ken of rural Independence, IA; one daughter, Teresa (Sherri Goodman) Frederick of Lewisville, TX; one son, Steven Jones of Evansdale, IA; two granddaughters, Kathryn Frederick and Anna Frederick both of Lewisville, TX; also one brother, George (Vicky) Foy of Los Angeles, CA.  Her parents and one sister, Winnie MacPherson preceded her in death.
