White Funeral Home Jesup – Bernice S. Kimball, 92 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, January 09, 2017, at Ravenwood Specialty Care, Waterloo, IA. Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Quasqueton Union Church, Quasqueton, IA. Visitation will be for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the church. White Funeral Home Jesup, IA, is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Kimball was born November 11, 1924, in Buchanan County, Iowa, near Brandon, the daughter of Clarence Stanford and Sadie (Kidd) Stanford. She attended and graduated from the Quasqueton High School in 1942. On July 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Kimball at the Union Church in Quasqueton. They moved to Jesup in 1962, and became active in the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Kimball worked as a nurse’s aide at the Mental Health Institute until retirement in 1986. She enjoyed gardening and helped with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Kimball is survived by one daughter, Mary Lusthoff of Ankeny, IA; three sons, Charles “Norm” (Linda) Kimball of Waterloo, Robert (Lynda) Kimball of Kerrville, TX, Gary (Doreen) Kimball of Lakeland, FL; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren; also three brothers, Jack (Sharon) Stanford of Quasqueton, Lyle (Audrey) Stanford of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Charlotte) Stanford of Hiawatha; and one sister, Maxine (Jack) Schweitzer of Independence. Her husband; parents; and three brothers, Robert, Donald and Lavern Stanford preceded her in death. |
