White Funeral Home Waterloo – Robert G. Peters, 75 of rural Waterloo, IA, died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. – Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials will be directed to Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo and Sacred Heart School, Waterloo. Bob Peters was born March 26, 1941, in Independence, IA the son of Leo Forrest Peters and Mabel Ruth (Collins) Peters. He graduated from high school in Jesup, IA with the class of 1959 and then attended barber college in Waterloo. On June 5, 1965, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lee Snyder at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. They have made their home in rural Waterloo since 1966. Bob had been a barber for 55 years and was owner operator of Bob’s Barber Shop on Jefferson Street in Waterloo since 1971. Bob served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Peters of Waterloo, one daughter, Carin (Michael) Lindsay of Waterloo; one son, Joel (Rochelle) Peters of Waterloo; 3 grandchildren, Ty, Baylee and Sadie; also one sister, Kayla Mulder of Waterloo and one brother, Jim (Sue) Peters of Springfield, MO; also, two nieces, Kara Peters of Springfield, IL, Lori Mulder of Waterloo; and one nephew, Brad Mulder of Waterloo. His parents and one infant brother, Jerry Peters, preceded him in death |
