White Funeral Home Fairbank – John R. Yonkovic, 68 years old of Fairbank, IA, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, at his home following a long illness with cancer. John was born January 11, 1948, the son of Joseph Roy Yonkovic and Lucille Mae (Chapman) Yonkovic. Following a previous marriage, he was united in marriage to Debra Kay Frahm on June 11, 1977, at Grace Lutheran Church in Jesup, IA. They have made their home in Fairbank the past 30 years. John worked as a mason for Y & F Masonry and later Seedorff Masonry. He had also worked at Spark’s DX in Jesup from 1977 – 1993, was owner operator of the service station from 1989 -1993; and had also worked at Roy’s Sales and Service in Hopkinton. He enjoyed passing out candy and Juicy Fruit gum to his grandchildren and others, also camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deb Yonkovic of Fairbank, IA; three daughters, Laurie (Kenny) Isaac of Marion, IA, Marcia Yonkovic of Monticello, IA, Brenda (Ron) Sadler of Jesup, IA; three sons, Pat (Lisa) Yonkovic of Hopkinton, IA, Russell (Nikki) Yonkovic of Monticello, IA, John (Stephanie) Yonkovic, Jr. of Independence, IA; 21 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and one on the way; six sisters, Joanne (Bill) Dingbaum of Hopkinton, IA, Nina Kray, Rosie Dirks (Ron Hendricks), Deb (Daryl) Porter and Janet (Ted) McDonell all of Monticello, IA; Sherry Schonberg of Marion, IA, and two brothers, Raymond (Karene) Yonkovic of Lisbon, IA, Tony Yonkovic of Hopkinton, IA; a sister in law, Patty Heller of Monticello, IA and many nieces and nephews. His parents and one brother Russell preceded him in death. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA is in charge of the arrangements. |
