White Funeral Home Dunkerton – Deon David Turner, 46 years old, of Dunkerton, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at his home of cancer. Funeral services will be - 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, Dunkerton, IA. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8th also at First Baptist Church, Dunkerton. Memorials will be directed to a trust fund for Deon’s children. Deon was born October 24, 1970, in Waterloo, IA, the son of David Floyd Turner and Sharon Kay (McIntyre) Turner. He graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1990. On June 24, 1995, Deon was united in marriage to Nancy E. Kalsem in Waterloo. They later divorced. Before his illness he was employed at Pepsi Beverages Company in Waterloo driving a delivery truck. He was also an excellent welder and metal fabricator. He worked with his father building stock cars and also drove an IMCA Modified race car throughout Northeast Iowa. Deon is survived by one daughter, Nicole Turner and one son, Daniel Turner, both of Waterloo; his parents, Dave and Sharon Turner of rural Fairbank, IA; one sister, Tracey Turner-Latham (Scott Duffey) of Dunkerton; a half sister, Sanda (Dave) Stanhope of Janesville, IA; maternal grandmother, Opel McIntyre of Waterloo; and paternal grandmother, Alberta Turner of Waterloo. His maternal grandfather, Lloyd McIntyre and paternal grandfather, Floyd Turner, preceded him in death. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA is in charge of arrangements. |
