Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, September 23, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Winthrop, with burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery at Monti. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the White Funeral Home, 400 First Street West, Independence, IA. There will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for charitable purposes including a scholarship fund established for agriculture in Keith’s name. Keith was born July 28, 1974, in Manchester, IA, the son of Kenneth John Wilgenbusch and Kathleen Marie (Lutter) Wilgenbusch. He attended school in Winthrop and graduated from East Buchanan High School with the class of 1992. He then earned an associates degree in Swine Management from Ellsworth Community College at Iowa Falls, IA. On May 29, 2004, he was united in marriage to Jill Frances Fox at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Winthrop. They and their children have made their home south of Winthrop where Keith was engaged in farming for several years. Keith was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Winthrop and a member of the Buchanan County Pork Producers. He enjoyed and loved his family very much. Whether it was planning 4-H projects, hunting, fishing or camping, being with family was the best. He also loved farming, raising crops and livestock. In 2015, Keith was honored as an Iowa Master Pork Producer through the Iowa State Extension and Out Reach Program. Keith is survived by his wife, Jill of Winthrop; one son, Keegan Wilgenbusch and three daughters, McKenna, Corbin and Keira Wilgenbusch all at home; and (foster) daughter, Alisa Nelson of Independence; his parents, Ken and Kathy Wilgenbusch of Manchester; three brothers, John (Jessi) Wilgenbusch of Manchester, Craig (Kris) Wilgenbusch of Masonville, Nicholas Wilgenbusch of Winthrop and friend Breatta Schmitz; four sisters, Denise (Chad) Lympus of Rowley, IA, Karrie (Jeff) Hempstead of Central City, IA, Janene (Mike) Widen of St. Paul, MN, Katie (Drew) Johnson of Fairfield, IA; his maternal grandmother, Veronica Lutter of West Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by his father in law and mother in law, Dan and Mary Fox of Jesup, IA, brother in law, Troy (Dana Kratky) Fox of Crosby, TX and sister in law, Kari Mason of Crosby, TX; along with many nieces and nephews. His paternal grandparents, Edward and Leonette Wilgenbusch and maternal grandfather, Merritt Lutter, preceded him in death. |
