White Funeral Home Gilbertville – Diane Sass Mangrich, 65 years old of Gilbertville, IA, died at her home Thursday, June 30, 2016, from cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a 5:30 p.m. – Catholic Order of Forester’s Rosary. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the Black Hawk County Humane Society; Cedar Valley Hospice and to Immaculate Conception Church. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com Diane was born August 18, 1950, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Wilbert Harry “Lefty” Sass and Dorothy Mae (Iverson) Sass. She graduated from Orange High School with the class of 1968. On November 13, 1970, she was united in marriage to Glenn Marvin Lugg in Cedar Falls, IA. They later divorced. She later married Randy Joseph Mangrich on May 18, 2002, in Gilbertville. Diane worked 31 years as a Postal Clerk at the Cedar Falls Post Office. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters, both in Gilbertville. She enjoyed shooting pool, traveling and fishing. Diane is survived by her husband, Randy Mangrich of Gilbertville; one son, Dennis (Rachell) Lugg of Shell Rock, IA; 4 grandchildren, Kaleb, Johathan, Isabell & Brodey; her father, Wilbert “Lefty” Sass of Waterloo; one brother, Stuart Sass of Dubuque, IA; a foster brother, Jim (Judy) Rhodenbaugh of Waterloo and her aunt, Mary Sankey of Washburn, IA. Her mother, preceded her in death. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, is in charge of the arrangements. |
