Jesup – James Joseph “Jim” Fischels, 53 years old of rural Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilbertville.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 27^th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4:00 p.m. – Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services, Saturday, at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice or to Immaculate Conception Church.

Jim Fischels was born July 16, 1962 in Black Hawk County, IA, the son of Kenneth Leo Fischels and Wilma P. (Weber) Fischels.  He graduated from Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, with the class of 1980.  Jim farmed and also worked as a mechanic at area International Harvester dealerships.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and  the Catholic Order of Foresters in Gilbertville.

Jim is survived by his long time companion and Fiancee, Rhonda Roberts of Jesup; his parents, Kenneth & Wilma Fischels of Jesup; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russ and Marlys Fischels of Independence, Bob and Kathy Fischels of Dysart, IA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Bob Schmitz of Jesup, Rhonda Fischels Bahl and Marty Bahl of Baltimore, MD, Janet Fischels Wensman and Tim Wensman of St. Cloud, MN; also Rhonda’s children, Adam (Erin) Roberts of Fairbank, IA; Kyle Roberts of Raymond, IA and Nicole Roberts of Raymond, IA.

Jim enjoyed life, and spending time with his family; nieces & nephews; Rhonda’s children and grandchildren, Alexis, Bentley and Cruz.
