White Funeral Home Jesup – Regina M. Corkery, 84 years old of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, in her home at Winding Creek Meadows in Jesup. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville. Visitation will be Wednesday May 4th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville beginning with a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before servicesThursday at the church. Memorials will be directed to The Bosco System in Gilbertville and to the Buchanan county division of Cedar Valley Hospice. Mrs. Corkery was born December 30, 1931, in Milwauke, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oren J. Fettkether and Lucille M. (Tappan) Fettkether. She graduated from high school in Dunkerton, IA and before marriage worked at National Bank and in the office at Rath Packing in Waterloo. On May 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to Thomas Charles Corkery at St. Francis Catholic Church, rural Dunkerton, IA. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, IA. Mrs. Corkery loved her family and enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren. She found joy in dancing, gardening, flowers and all things beautiful. Mrs. Corkery is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Corkery of Jesup; eight sons, Donald (Joanne) Corkery of Brandon, IA, Timothy (Sharon) Corkery of Independence, IA, Gerald (Wanda) Corkery of Marion, IA, Vincent (fiancee’ Michelle Steils) Corkery of La Porte City, IA, Gregory (Kathy) Corkery of Jesup, Carl (Suzie) Corkery of Jesup, Keith (Bonnie) Corkery of Fairbank, Kurt (Rachelle) Corkery of Gilbertville, IA; four daughters, Rita (Kim) Borrett of Waterloo, IA, Annette (Brett) Bjorheim of Stewartville, MN, Rose (Tim) Gorton of Marion, IA, Theresa (Matt) Hopkins of Rowley, IA; 38 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Michael (Donna) Fettkether of Dunkerton, IA; two sisters, Mary Ann Weber of Waterloo, Celeste (Glen) Hoffman of Waterloo; and sister in law, Barbara Fettkether of Waterloo. She is preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, James and Joseph; one brother Kenneth Fettkether; one daughter in law, Bobbi Corkery; and a brother in law, Ronald Weber. |
