White Funeral Home Independence – Betty E. Robison, 89 years old, of Independence, Iowa, formerly of rural Walker, Iowa, died on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Lexington Estate in Independence. She was born on February 12, 1927 in Troy Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Kathryn (Strang) Keller. She graduated from high school in Independence. On December 12, 1948, she and Robert Robison were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She and her husband lived and farmed near Walker for over 60 years until she became ill. For 10 years, Mrs. Robison also made fishing flies for the Wapsie Fly Company in Independence. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rowley and the Spencer’s Grove Club. Mrs. Robison enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, growing flowers in her garden, and going to the casino. She taught classes on making porcelain dolls. Mrs. Robison is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert, 3 daughters, Vicky (Mike) Grover of Cedar Rapids, and Debra (Steve) Yeisley and Laurie (Louis) Folken, both of Springville, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and 1 half sister, Velma (John) Briggs of Gold Beach, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 great grandson, Austin Folken. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Rowley with Pastor Sheri Andersen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 4th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence. |
