West Union – Kenneth E. Gosse, 79 years old, of West Union, Iowa, formerly of Independence, Iowa, died on Friday, January 22, 2016, at his home.  He was born on December 3, 1936, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Earl Wilbert and Mable Mae (Miller) Gosse.  He graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1955.  He served in the U.S. Army.  Mr. Gosse farmed, worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids (for 21 years), and also, worked at Iowa Ham in Independence.  He retired in 2001.  He enjoyed time spent fishing.

Mr. Gosse is survived by 1 sister, Shirley Hendrickson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and 2 brothers, Gerald (Carolyn) Gosse of Manchester, Iowa, and Robert Gosse of Independence, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Carl Gosse, and 1 nephew, Gary Hendrickson.

Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.  Friends may call for visitation from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24^th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
