Brandon – Michael J. Hertzberg, 62 years old, of rural Brandon, Iowa, died on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his home.  He was born on June 11, 1953, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Howard Lorraine and Gladys Pauline (Fish) Hertzberg.  He graduated from high school in Jesup, Iowa.  On August 27, 1983, he and the former Veronica Kathleen Bruce Kuriger were married at the Church of Christ in Brandon, Iowa.  Mr. Hertzberg was a meat processor in Waterloo, Iowa, until he retired due to health reasons.  He was a member of the Church of Christ in Brandon.  Mr. Hertzberg loved his dogs and cat, and enjoyed following Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears football.  He also was a bicyclist.

Mr. Hertzberg is survived by his wife of 32 years, Veronica, his mother, Pauline Hertzberg and his mother-in-law, Ellen Kuriger, all of Brandon, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Pastor Lenny Power officiating.  Burial will be in Brandon Cemetery in Brandon.  Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13^th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
