Jesup – Helen I. Eder, 80 years old, of Jesup, Iowa, died on Friday, October 23, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo,Iowa.  She was born on February 7, 1935, at her family’s home in Elgin, Iowa, the daughter of Lester Everett and Dorothy Herman Chase.  She graduated from high school in Volga, Iowa, with the Class of 1952 and then attended the University of Northern Iowa(Cedar Falls) and Upper Iowa University (Fayette).  On April 5, 1953, she and Michael Henry Eder were married at the American Lutheran Church in Volga.  Mrs. Eder was a secretary for several Jesup area businesses.

Mrs. Eder is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael, 3 sons, Gary (Margie) Eder of Kennewick, Washington, and Dale Eder and Jamison Eder, both of Jesup, and 1 daughter, Diana Easton of Strawberry Point, Iowa.  She is also survived by 9 grand-children, and 1 great grandchild and 2 brothers, Willis (Shelvie) Chase and Charles (Janice) Chase, both of Volga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Jon Eder in 1959, and 1 brother, Kenneth Chase.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. - Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, Iowa, with Pastor Tom Jones officiating.  Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27^th, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Volga, Iowa.  Friends may call for visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26^th, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Monday, at the church.
