Dunkerton – Helen M. DeLong, 76, of Dunkerton, IA, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at her home.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.  The casket will also be at the church for an hour before services Tuesday.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com

Mrs. DeLong was born March 9, 1939, in New Hampton, IA, daughter of John Joseph Eichenberger and Alice Louella (McBride) Eichenberger.  She graduated in 1957 from New Hampton High School.  On May 27, 1961, she was united in marriage to Harold L. DeLong at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton.

Helen survived by two daughters, Kimberly Miller of Ft. Worth, TX, Sharri (Tom) Gamerdinger of Dunkerton; one son, Jeffrey (Tracy) DeLong of Shellsburg; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jenn), Amber (Kevin), Justin (Emily), Lacee (Steve), Lexee, Morgan, Madison and Michael; 4 great grandchildren, Gabby, Brexton, Jordan and Triton; and looking forward  to two great granddaughters on the way; two sisters, Joanne (Tom) Chandler of Cedar Falls, IA and Linda (Marv) Vrzak of Corsicana, TX.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband (June 18, 2013) and one brother, Donald.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were most special and she looked forward to babysitting and puzzles with Brexton and Triton every Friday . She also enjoyed the Red Hat Club and trips to the casino.
