White Funeral Home Jesup – Paul A. Nagel, 79 years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Unity Point Health/Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo from cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, with Rev. John Molacek officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com Paul Arthur Nagel was born March 24, 1936 in Harmony, MN, the son of Perlam Eugene and Irene (Wissing) Nagel. He attended Prairie Queen Country School at Greenleafton in Fillmore County, MN, and graduated with the Preston Minnesota High School class of 1954. On July 10, 1954, Paul was united in marriage to Marlys Joan Mensink in Cherry Grove, MN. They moved to Waterloo, IA, in 1955 and to Jesup in 1959. Paul was employed 24 years at Rath Packing in Waterloo and in 1974 became self-employed when he purchased the Jesup Car Wash. He was a former member of the Jesup Fire Department, Jesup Masonic Lodge and the El Kahir Shrine. Paul is survived by his wife Marlys Nagel of Jesup; three sons, Terry (Colleen) Nagel of Jesup, Chris (Barbara) Nagel of Grinnell, Danny Nagel of Jesup; two daughters, Cindy (Earl) Schmit and Ann (Greg) Becker of Jesup; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; one brother, Milo (and friend, Sharon Guthridge) Nagel of Walker, MN; and two sisters, Beth Hutcherson of Surprise, AZ and Arlys (Frank) Wickett of Anoka, MN. His Parents and one brother Curtis, preceded him in death. |
