Gilbertville – Daniel J. McGee, 57 years old of La Porte City and formerly of Bettendorf and Gilbertville, was found April 4, 2015, to have died at his home in La Porte City. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, April 8^th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. - Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials will be directed to the Bosco System and Immaculate Conception Church in Gilbertville and to St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, IA.  Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com

Mr. McGee was born September 7, 1957, in Waterloo, IA, the son of John Charles “Jack” McGee and Mary Josephine (Prochaska) McGee.  He graduated from Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, IA, with the class of 1975, and later attended Hamilton Technical Institute in Davenport, IA.  On May 21, 1977, he was united in marriage to Patricia Kay Tomkins at Immaculate Conception Church in Gilbertville.  Daniel was a manager in the maintenance department at the Exelon nuclear power plant at Cordova, IL for many years.

Mr. McGee is survived by his wife, Patricia of Bettendorf; one son, Jonathan (Aleta) McGee of Madison, WI; two daughters, Kristina McGee of Bettendorf , Jenna (Jaun) Rodriguez of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Porter, Keller and Barrett; also his mother, Mary McGee of Gilbertville; two sisters, Debra (Russ) Backes of Raymond, Dee (Hal) Reiter of Buckingham; and two brothers, Dennis (Teresa) McGee of Oklahoma City, OK, and Richard (Veronica) McGee of Huxley.  His father preceded him in death.
