White Funeral Home Jesup – Berneice Andrena “Bee” Volk, 95 years old of Jesup, IA, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center Independence – West Campus, Independence, IA. She was born December 2, 1919, in Medford Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew Christian Anhorn and Pearl Margaret (Erdmann) Anhorn. She grew up in Osage, IA, and graduated high school there with the class of 1937. On January 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Phillip Volk in Chicago, IL. Bee worked in data processing and as an office manager for Rollins, Burdick, Hunter, an insurance brokerage company in Chicago. She had also worked in the advertising department for IGA Wholesale Groceries. Bee is survived by one sister, Darlene Thompson of Jesup, IA; one step-daughter, Kathleen Hartig of Appleton, WI; two step-sons, John Volk, Jr. of Northern WI, Michael Volk of Sheboygan, WI; numerous step grand and great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews; also a great friend and neighbor, Bruce Pint, who was always there for her. She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 2004; one step-son, Robert Volk; three brothers, Wayne Edward Anhorn (In infancy), Ruben and Lyle Anhorn. Family Services will be held at a later date. |
