White Funeral Home Raymond – Robert Bernard “Bud” Conrad, 88 years old of Raymond, IA, died Monday, December 29, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. He was born September 26, 1926, in Raymond, the son of Robert L. Conrad and Mary E. (Wittry) Conrad. He graduated from East High School in Waterloo with the class of 1945. He served overseas in the US Army during WWII. On June 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Clarice Mae Brown at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raymond. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1994. Robert was a construction supervisor for Youngblut Construction in Washburn, IA, before retirement. He was a Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond, Nugent American Legion Post 714, Gilbertville and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Mr. Conrad is survived by two sons, Robert (Betty) Conrad of Washburn, David (Mary) Conrad of Waterloo; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Anita Russell of Raymond; and two brothers, William (Carole) Conrad of Washburn, Jim (Marva) Conrad of Washburn; and a sister-in-law Teresa Conrad of Raymond. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Louis Conrad; one sister, Marie Sachs and a half sister, Frances Hollar. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, January 2, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond with Fr. Henry P. Huber as celebrant. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Post #714 of Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 1st at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph’s Church at Raymond and to UnityPoint Hospice in Waterloo.
