RAYMOND – James Anthony Mangrich, 83 years old of Raymond, IA, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. He was born August 14, 1931, in Waterloo, the son of John Mangrich and Leona (Girsch) Mangrich. On October 7, 1950, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Woellert at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. Jim worked at John Deere in Waterloo until retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raymond. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling in past years, but most recently he joined friends for card games at The Bar in Raymond and also enjoyed trips to the casino. His grandchildren had a special place in his heart and time spent with them was special.
James is survived by six sons, Randy (Norma Jean) Mangrich of Watherloo, Doug (Denise) Mangrich of Waterloo, Bill (Lydia) Mangrich of Elk Run Heights, Steve Mangrich of Evansdale, Alan (Deanne) Mangrich of Lumberton, NC, Pat (Melinda) Mangrich of Waterloo, four daughters, Mary (David) Neisen of Gilbertville, Ranelle (Jerry) Bailiff of Elk Run Heights, Shelley (Jeff) Roberts of Elk Run Heights, Cyndi (Troy) Torrey of Waterloo, also 32 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on October 20, 2009; also, his parents, one daughter, Debbie Mangrich-Palumbo, four sisters, Jeanette Schares, Helene Lutgen, Rosella Soppe, Anne Else; and three brothers, Anthony, Vince, and Paul Mangrich.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA, with Fr. Henry P. Huber as celebrant. Casket Bearers will be Darryle Else, Eric Mangrich, Josh Mangrich, Darin Mangrich, Pat Ambrose, B.J. Mangrich, Chris Mangrich, Sage Hackbarth, and Scyler Torrey. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Raymond. Memorials will be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA; where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Rosary and 7:00 p.m. Vigil service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
