Independence – Kelly R. Rix, 52 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on December 4, 2014, at his home.  He was born onDecember 13, 1961, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Carlyn Dale and Janet Lynn (Salisbury) Rix.  He graduated from high school in Independence and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.  Kelly was a construction carpenter at the time of his death.  He loved the out of doors and spent some of that time fishing.

Kelly is survived by 1 daughter, Karli Niemann-Rix and 1 step son, Ory Rix, both of Cumberland, Wisconsin, his parents, Janet and Carlyn Rix of Independence, and 3 sisters, Sally Hayward, Chris (Terry) Juhl, and Kari (Jon) Noesen, all of Independence.

No public services are planned.  White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements.
