White Funeral Home Dunkerton – Cheryl Jean Brown, 68 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Sunday, November 2, 2014, at her home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, November 6, 2014, at St. Francis Catholic Church – Barclay, rural Dunkerton, IA, with Msgr. Lyle L. Wilgenbusch officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church. Special services Wednesday at the funeral home will include a 4:00 p.m. Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Cheri was born December 24, 1945, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of James Corwin Crane and Maxine Cornelia (Widdel) Crane. She graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1964. On July 22, 1967, she was united in marriage to Thomas Joseph Brown at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. They have made their home in Dunkerton for the past 41 years, where they raised their family. Cheryl operated Joe’s Fast Break for 6 years and also did home daycare. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Cheri is survived by her husband, Thomas of Dunkerton; two daughters, Janeen (Dan) Williams of Firestone, CO, Melissa (Jason) Pates of Denver, IA; two sons, James (Michelle) Brown of Dunkerton, IA, Jason (Kristie) Brown of Evansdale, IA; 12 grandchildren and one sister, Judy (Norm) Tuder of Evansdale. She was preceded in death by her parents. |
