White Funeral Home Fairbank – Dona Mae Venz, 87 years old of rural Fairbank, IA, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, IA. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. – Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup, IA with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Friday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Mrs. Venz was born May 30, 1927, in Dunkerton, IA, the daughter of Joe Moulds and Edna Mae (Cummings) Moulds. She graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1944. On June 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lester Wilbur Venz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. In earlier years Dona worked at Rath Packing, the Waterloo Abstract office and the 26 years at the Bell Telephone office, retiring in 1991. He husband Lester preceded her in death in 1992. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup, and did volunteer work at the Mental Health Institute in Independence. She was honored to receive the Governor’s Volunteer Award in 2003. Mrs. Venz is survived by one daughter, Lesona (John) Walker of Hazelton, IA; one son, Steven (Jerry Lea) Venz of Tuttle, OK; one daughter in law, Theresa Venz of Independence; 5 grandchildren, Sarah (Troy) Lange, Matthew (Jesse) Rogers, Jonathan Rogers, Lester Venz and Kaylea Venz; 4 great grandchildren, Kacie Lange, Kaden Lange, Memphis Rogers and Aiden Rogers; one sister in law, Doris Adams of Ionia, IA; and a special friend, Charles Miller of Fairbank, IA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jack Venz; her parents; one brother, Gordon Moulds; and two sisters, Irene Wittkop and Marlyn Fox. White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA is in charge of the arrangements. |
