Jesup – Evelyn Alice Boster, 85 years old of Ionia, Michigan and formerly of Jesup, IA died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at her home in Ionia.  She was born November 25, 1929, in Green City, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Amack McFarland and Naomi Alta (Mobley) McFarland.  She graduated high school in Green City, MO, with the class of 1948, and attended two years at North East Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville, Mo (now Truman University) where she received her teacher’s certificate. She taught five years in Missouri Schools and then was a substitute for one year before moving to Waterloo, IA.  On February 13, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Boster at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  After his death on October 19, 2006, Evelyn moved to Michigan and became an active member of the Temple Baptist Church in Ionia.

Mrs. Boster is survived by one daughter, Connie Boster of Lincoln, NE; one son, Larry (Sherri) Boster of Ionia, MI; grandchildren, Katherine Steffen, Michael Steffen, Nicholas Boster and special step grandson Ryan Bartell; great granddaughters, Madalyn & Brielle Friend; sister-in-law, Beverly McFarland of St. Louis; four brothers, James McFarland of Novinger, MO, Marvin McFarland of Tucson, AZ, Cleo (Diane) McFarland of Winchester, IN, Ronnie McFarland of Tucson, AZ; one sister, Maggie (Herman) Fickes of Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, five brothers, an infant, also, Raymond, Frank Jr., Alvie and Willie McFarland; and two sisters, Gertrude McFarland and Frances McFarland.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. - Monday, February 2, 2015, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA.  Visitation will be Sunday 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street, Jesup, IA.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
