Jesup – Colleen Kay Nekola, 67 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home.  She was born January 18, 1947, the daughter of Leonard Zigler and Betty Lou (Brott) Zigler.  In 1963 she was united in marriage to LaVerne Henry Arp in Missouri.  He preceded her in death in 1973.  In 1974, she married Larry John Knoop in Tama, IA.  They later divorced.  On December 31, 1982, she married Ronald Lee Nekola in Tama.  They have made their home in Jesup the past 23 years.  Colleen worked as a USDA Meat Inspector in Tama, Marshalltown, Waterloo, and Columbus Junction.  She retired in 2007.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup and the Eagles club in the Tama – Toledo area.

Mrs. Nekola is survived by her husband, Ronald of Jesup, IA; three daughters, Kim (Todd) Banes of Elberon, Kris Arp of Traer, Andrea (Jeff) Coen of Cedar Falls; one son, Kendall (Sheryl) Arp of Brooklyn, IA; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.  There will be no public services.
