White Funeral Home Jesup – Hazel L. Hamblin, 83 of rural Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, May 24, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with burial at the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed to the Jesup Ambulance Service and Jesup Fire Department. Hazel was born October 16, 1930, in Delaware County, IA, at Greeley the daughter of Herman Buchholz and Florence (Meinors) Buchholz. She graduated from Fairbank High School with the class of 1947. On February 26, 1950, she and Wesley Dean Hamblin were married at the Methodist Church in Fairbank. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2009. Hazel was active in farming and raising livestock with her husband and family most of her adult life as well as a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Dean Hamblin of Jesup, David (Joyce) Hamblin of Jesup; one daughter, Karen (David) Christian of Independence; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy; two sisters, Marian Wenger, Melba Bearbower; and two brothers, Marvin and Merlin Buchholz.
