Jesup – Donald P. Youngblut, 69 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.  He was born September 26, 1944, in Waterloo, the son of Raphael Nicholas “Ray” Youngblut and Cleo Elizabeth (Kane) Youngblut.  He graduated from Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, IA, with the class of 1962, and served in the US Army Reserves.  On September 17, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Lou Delagardelle at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.  Don was a self employed cattle broker and was also retired in 1994 from John Deere in Waterloo where he was a forklift operator.  He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, and UAW Local 838 in Waterloo.

Mr. Youngblut is survived by his wife, Linda of Jesup; one son Eugene Youngblut of La Porte City, IA; two daughters, Jana (Mike) Johnson of Jesup and Brenda Youngblut of Jesup; three grandchildren, Tyler, Trina and Joshua Johnson; four brothers, Joe (Betty) Youngblut, of Jesup, Dave (Kim) Youngblut of Raymond, IA, Marv Youngblut of Jesup, Alan (Kathy) Youngblut of Evansdale, IA; five sisters, Connie (Carl) Kass of Independence, Jackie (Bob) Kresser of Jesup, Sandy (Lonnie) Even of Jesup, Kris (Joe) Vogel of Waterloo, Gin (Bart) Vogel of Fairbank, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Youngblut of Jesup.  He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Leanne Youngblut; his parents; and two brothers, Laverne Youngblut in infancy and Leroy Youngblut.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial in the church cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville, IA.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Parish Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Wednesday morning at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
