White Funeral Home Jesup – Clarence Phillip “Junior” Youngblut, 79 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born March 13, 1935, in Waterloo the son of Clarence P. Youngblut and Clara (Welter) Youngblut. On October 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janice Marie Hemmer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond. They later moved to the family farm west of Jesup. Junior was a farmer from a very early age and he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. Mr. Youngblut is survived by his wife, Janice of Jesup; three daughters, Lori (Rustie) Kane of Fairbank, Sandy Youngblut (Brent Blythe) of Waterloo, Kathy “Hutch” Youngblut of Jesup; two sons, Mark “Sparky” Youngblut of Jesup, Nick (Amy) Youngblut of Jesup; 7 grandchildren, Amber (Justin) Decker, Jared (Rochelle) Kane, Troy Kane, Landon Kane, Nikayla Youngblut, Makena Youngblut and Merrick Youngblut; 5 great grandchildren, Braiden, Kanen, Espyn and Gentry Decker, Audra Kane; three brothers, Gerald (Charlene) Youngblut of Jesup, Irvin (Edna) Youngblut of Waterloo, William (Joan) Youngblut of Waterloo; and sister-in-law, Rosie Youngblut of Jesup. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kurt Youngblut, and two brothers, Richard Youngblut and Arnold “Barney” Youngblut. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Thursday, May 1, 2014, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
