White Funeral Home Jesup –Keith Kent Kullmer, 82 years old of Jesup, IA, and formerly of La Porte City, IA, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence, IA. He was born October 4, 1931, on the family farm near Traer in Tama County, IA, the son of Keith Karl Kullmer and Mildred Mae (Weaver) Kullmer. He graduated from La Porte City High School with the class of 1952. He farmed with his parents and also worked 22 years as janitor and grounds keeper for La Porte City Schools and retired in 1996. Keith was a longtime member of I.O.O.F. Odd Fellows Lodge and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup. On May 4, 2003, he was united in marriage to Grace Darlene (May) Mueller in Jesup, IA. He was truly a people person and enjoyed train history and miniature trains; the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Mr. Kullmer is survived by his wife Grace of Jesup; two step sons, Gary (Melissa) Mueller of Waverly, Steven (Eileen) Muller of Urbandale, three step daughters, Kimberley (Craig) Flage of Zeeland, MI, Pamela (John) Risse of Fairbank and Dennice (Jim) Beal of Newell; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, James (Gretchen) Kullmer of La Porte City, and nieces and Nephews. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. – Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup, with Rev. Lynn C. Gardner officiating. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery, La Porte City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 21st at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup and also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. |
