Dunkerton – Charlotte A. Manchester, 74 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Saturday, April 05, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.  She was born March 26, 1940, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Glen Garetson, Sr. and Dorothy (Tyler) Garetson.  In 1957, she graduated from high school at Aurora, IA.  On November 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Marlin Lee Manchester at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA.  They made their home in Dunkerton where they raised their family.  Marlin preceded her in death on January 31, 2000.  Charlotte enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, attending auctions at the Amish and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.  She was a person with a strong faith who enjoyed being with her family.

Mrs. Manchester is survived by three sons, Marty (Georgianna) Manchester of Center Point, IA, Kirk (Jena) Manchester of Agency, IA, Terry (Wanda) Manchester of Dunkerton, IA; one daughter, Jeanne (Brian) Roquet of Dunkerton, IA; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; five brothers, Glen (Doris) Garetson of Center Point, Kenny (Audrey) Garetson of Lamont, James (Carol) Garetson of Austin, TX, Larry (Dee) Garetson of Center Point, John (Vicki) Garetson of Ankeny; one sister, Stella (Richard) Miller of Chicago, IL.  In addition to her husband, Marlin; she was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter.

A visitation and time for remembering Charlotte will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.  Memorials will be directed to various churches and charities.
