Jesup – Eileen Jewell Mount, 91 years old of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA. She was born October 8, 1922, in Oran, IA, the daughter of Harry Shatzer and Mary (Schnell) Shatzer. She attended school in Jesup. On August 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin A. Mount at her parents’ home in Jesup.

Eileen was a proud Navy wife and traveled across the country with Marvin. The couple lived in many states, including South Carolina, Hawaii, Florida, California, Wisconsin, and Maryland on three separate occasions. Following Marvin’s retirement from the United States Navy in 1967, the couple returned to Jesup where they made their home. Marvin preceded her in death in 1987. Eileen enjoyed shopping and taking trips with her family. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

Mrs. Mount is survived by one son, Jim (Susan) Mount of Jesup; four daughters, Vicki (Richard) Brown of Ft. Worth, TX, Christina Mount and Patricia McLellen, both of Jesup, and Rebecca (Mark) Owens of Fairbank, IA; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Shatzer of Jesup.

In addition to her husband, Marvin; she is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Karen Eby; three sisters, Elva Kirk, Florence Weatherman, Madeline Steinbron; and three brothers Orville, Everett, and Harry Shatzer.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. - Thursday, April 3, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, Jesup, with Rev. Lynn C. Gardner officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo, IA. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 2nd at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services, Thursday at the church.

Memorials will be directed to the family.
