Independence – Elizabeth E. Heiserman, 93 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at ABCM Rehabilitation Independence – West in Independence. She was born on April 29, 1920, in Benton County, Iowa, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Pauline (Hoffman) McKinley. She graduated from high school in Rowley, Iowa, and then continued her education at the Independence Junior College in Independence. On June 25, 1939, she and Roger (Tubby) Glen Heiserman were married at the Presbyterian parsonage in Independence. He preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Heiserman was a member of theLiving Water Church in Independence. She was a giving, loving person always doing for others. She loved to cook, bake, and share with neighbors, friends, and family. In her younger days, she and Tubby never missed a dance if it was at all possible to get there. They made a great team on the dance floor!
Mrs. Heiserman is survived by her daughter, Karen (Roger) Michael of West Union, Iowa, 4 grandchildren, Lisa (Al) Ameling, Bryan (fiancé Kim) Michael, Steven (Diane) Michael, and John (Stephanie) Michael, and 9 great grandchildren, Jeremy Michael, Nikki Anfinson, Katie Michael, Jodi Lickteig, Logan Michael, Chelsea Michael, Hannah Michael, John ”Jack” Michael, and Josie Michael, and 2 great great grandchildren, Allie Anfinson and Lucas Michael.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Bernard McKinley and Clifford McKinley.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Pastor John Sheda officiating. Burial will be in Rowley Cemetery in Rowley, Iowa.
Friends may call for visitation after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 27th, at the funeral home.
