Jesup – Catherine Ann Letchworth, 93 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at her home.  She was born October 3, 1920, at Neuman Grove, Nebraska, the daughter of William Becker and Mary Alta (McDonald) Becker.  She attended schools in Nebraska and graduated from Wayne State Teachers College.  She later earned a BA degree from Creighton University in Omaha.  She served as a radio operator during WWII in Hawaii.  Around 1946, she was united in marriage to Thomas Earl Letchworth, they later divorced.  Mrs. Letchworth began in teaching at the elementary school in Jesup in 1955, and retired at the age of 70.  She continued working at the school as a volunteer for several years following.

Mrs. Letchworth is survived by two sons and daughters in law; one sister and one brother.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.  As per her wishes there will be no public services.  White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, was in charge of the arrangements.
