White Funeral Home Independence – Nina P. Kaesser, 98 years old, of Independence, Iowa, formerly of Rowley, died on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Buchanan County Health Center Long Term Care in Independence. She was born on October 17, 1915, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of William O. and Josephine (Fritz) Ague. On August 28, 1934, she and Delbert LaVerne Kaesser were married at the Ague family home in Cono Township of Buchanan County, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2011. Mrs. Kaesser was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Rowley. She cared for her family and was always ready to share her time with anyone who needed it. She liked to crochet, fish, and play cards. She also enjoyed traveling around the country or outside of the country. She would sometimes invite grandchildren to accompany her. Mrs. Kaesser is survived by one son, Merle L. (Neva) Kaesser of Janesville, Iowa, 2 daughters, Kitty (Franklin) Rehberg of Rowley, Iowa, and Kathy (Chuck) Butterfield of Independence, Iowa, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Richard Ague and Merle Ague, and 4 sisters, Tressie Swan, Thelma Williams, Marguerite Wiley, and Eileen Elam. Private family services were held on Monday, January 20, 2014. White Funeral Home of Independence was in charge of arrangements. |
