Jesup – Edward William Jesse, Jr., 78 years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at his home. He was born November 17, 1935, in Spring Creek Township of Black Hawk County, IA, the son of E.W. Jesse and Amanda Elizabeth Benorden. He attend school at Jubilee and later LaPorte City. He graduated from LaPorte City High School with the class of 1953. Mr. Jesse had served in the US Marines Reserves, was a longtime Black Hawk and Buchanan County area farmer and a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural LaPorte City.

Mr. Jesse is survived by two brothers, Willard (Lois) Jesse of LaPorte City; Leland Jesse of LaPorte City; two sisters, Wilma Marshall of LaPorte City, Margaret (Richard) Brust of Manmouth, OR. In addition to his parents; four brothers, Raymond, Virden, Melvin and Russell; and two sisters, Florence and Winona preceded him in death.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
