White Funeral Home Jesup – Rickey L. Studebaker, 59 years old of Jesup, IA, died Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, of cancer. He was born January 25, 1954, in Waterloo, the son of Charles Raymond Studebaker and Luella (Abernathy) Studebaker. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1972. In 1973 he married Zelda Kaye Ladd, they later divorced and then on November 4, 1989, he married the former Pamela Kay Scott in Jesup, IA. They made their home in Jesup and Rick worked for Jesup Community Schools as a custodian for 18 years. The past 15 years he has been employed at Martin Brothers in Cedar Falls as a truck driver, until his health condition dictated he work in the office. Rick was currently a member of Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls. He will be remembered by many for his friendly nature and enjoyment he brought to others. The love for his family and belief in Jesus Christ will lift them up and strengthen them in the days ahead. Rick is survived by his wife Pam of Jesup; two sons, Charles (Lorie Warner) Studebaker of Jesup, Jeremy (Jessie) Studebaker of Jesup; one daughter, Mindy Cooper of Des Moines; two step-daughters, Nicki (Joey) Brown of Jesup, Angie (Carl) Schuldt of Elk Run Heights; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Luella Studebaker of Independence; one brother, Ed (Linda) Studebaker of Quasqueton, and one sister, Linda Gruver of Des Moines. His father, Raymond, one infant brother, Ronald and one infant sister, Helen, preceded him in death. Memorial services will be, 1:30 p.m. – Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Heartland Vineyard Church, 1405 Greenhill Road, Cedar Falls, with burial of his cremated remains at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 14th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, an also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice and to the American Cancer Society. |
