White Funeral Home Dunkerton – Myrna Jean Turner, 72 years old of Dunkerton, IA, died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at the home of her son, in Dunkerton, following a lengthy illness. She was born December 23, 1940, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Claude Raymond McMillin and Erma Mae (Wells) McMillin. She attended school in Dunkerton and graduated with the Class of 1959. She was a lifelong resident of Dunkerton, and a longtime cook at the Toll Gate Tavern in Dunkerton. Later in life she also provided daycare in her home, a job she truly loved. Myrna is survived by three daughters, Janine (Richard) Mayer of Lime Springs, Jacalyn (Guido) Miller and Michelle (Paul) Dennis, both of Dunkerton; two sons, Curt (Pam) Turner of Dunkerton and Trent (Wendy) Turner of Altoona, IA; 13 grandchildren; and soon 1 great grandson; one brother, Cliff (Marsha) McMillin of Dunkerton; and one sister, Carolyn Moe of Urbandale. Her parents, husband Donald, and special friend, Gary Iverson preceded her in death. Her family will hold a celebration of her life beginning at 3:00 p.m. - Saturday, October 19th at the Tollgate in Dunkerton. Memorials will be directed to Unity Point Hospice at Allen Hospital in Waterloo. |
