Jesup – Betty Ann Peterson, 78 years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA, of cancer. She was born November 6, 1934, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Carl Luloff and Erna (Riensche) Luloff. Betty graduated from Jesup Community School with the high school class of 1953.

On August 19, 1953, Betty was united in marriage to Paul Andrew Peterson at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee. They made their home in Jesup where Betty was a homemaker and together, with her husband, owned and operated Peterson Hardware for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee.

Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul, of Jesup; 1 daughter, Marilyn (Craig) Frush, of Jesup; 1 son, David (Jody) Peterson, of Jesup; 4 grandchildren, Chad Frush, of Jesup, Sarah (Brian) Larson, of Independence, IA, Matthew (Alicia) Peterson, of Hudson, IA, Meghan (Justin) Birdnow of Cascade, IA; 7 great-grandchildren, Blake & Kalie Frush, Alexis & Alaina Larson, Evelyn & MacKenzie Bridnow, and Isaac Peterson; 1 sister, Susan Luloff, of Coralville, IA; 4 brothers, Donald (Kathleen) Luloff, of Mongomery, AL, Erwin ( Carol) Luloff, Waterloo, IA, Norman Luloff, of Hiawatha, IA, Melvin (Nancy) Luloff, Cook, MN; and 1 brother-in-law, Carl Blad of Jesup.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Delores Blad; and 2 nephews, Randy Luloff and Franklin Blad.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural  La Porte City, IA, with Rev. Jenna Couch officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Friday, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials will be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
