White Funeral Home Independence – Timothy John Toale, 53 years old of Waterloo, IA and formerly of Independence, IA, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo. He was born July 1, 1960 in Waterloo, the son of James Judson “Judd” Toale and Patricia Ann (Meaney) Toale. He graduated from Independence High School and worked at Fareway as a meat cutter for two years. He then attended Western Iowa Community College in Sioux City. He then became a chef and worked in Port St. Lucie, Florida and later at the Target Corporation in Minneapolis, MN. After suffering an injury he rehabilitated his way back to working at Wal Mart before his final illness. Tim will be remembered for his friendly nature and humor. He worked hard but always made time for family, holidays were special, and he traveled home, no matter where he was living at the time, for Christmas. Mr. Toale is survived by his parents, James “Judd” and Patricia Toale of Independence, IA; one sister, Michelle (Robert) Burke of Independence and nephew Joseph and niece Jessie; two brothers, his twin, Thomas Toale of Waterloo, and Michael (Angela) Toale of Cresco and nieces Madeline and Catherine; aunts, Helen (Thomas) Hild of Waterloo, Roseann Toale of Independence; uncles, John Meaney of Waterloo, Martin T. (Joyce) Meaney of Peosta, also special friends, Leah, Mia and Chuck. His grandparents, Peter & Grace Toale and John & Mary Meaney preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Independence, IA with Msgr. Thomas Toale and Fr. Donald Plamondon as concelebrants. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Independence, IA. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17th at the White Funeral Home, Independence, IA, where there will be a parish rosary at 3:00 p.m. and vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
