Jesup – BUD (Warner L.) Stoner, 70 years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA, following a lengthy illness.  He was born March 5, 1943, the son of Wayne Stoner and Wanda (Doty) Stoner.  On August 22, 1964, he was united in marriage to Linda Louise Yarrow.  She preceded him in death in 2011.  Bud worked construction for a time and then was employed by Deere and Co. in Waterloo.  He retired from John Deere in 2006.  He was a member of the UAW Union Local 838 in Waterloo.

Mr. Stoner is survived by his daughter, Suzanna Stoner of Jesup; sons Grey and Ron Rife-Von Stein of Clear Lake, CA; 2 sisters, Barbara Petersen of Dyersville and Darlene (Ralph) Condon of Martel; four nieces; five nephews and numerous extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his son Victor; wife; parents; a sister Charlotte Grandberg and a brother, Allen Stoner.

Bud was known for his love and commitment to family, friends, fishing and his Chihuahua boys; prankish sense of humor; finding a bargain; and his fascination with tools.  Memorials may be directed to his family or gifted to the local Humane Society.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m.Monday, September 16, 2013 at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA with committal at West View Cemetery, La Porte City, IA.  The family will greet friends at the memorial service and during a luncheon following the committal at the American Legion Hall in Jesup on Monday.
