Jesup – Darlene D. Reinhardt, 85 years old of Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA.  She was born May 19, 1928 near Jesup, IA, the daughter of Edward Ewald Emme and Nora K. (Hansen) Emme.  Following her graduation from Jesup High School, she completed the Normal Training at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.  She then taught school at LaPorte City, Jubilee and Dunkerton  before being hired as Librarian at the Jesup Library in 1966.  On November 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Vernon LeRoy Reinhardt at the American Lutheran Church in Jesup, where she has been active in various church activities for many years.  Vernon preceded her in death on June 15, 1986.

Mrs. Reinhardt is survived by one son, Mark (Jennifer) Reinhardt of Eagan, MN; two granddaughters, Meredith and Hilleary Reinhardt; and one brother, Robert (Lydia) Emme of Jesup, IA.  In addition to her husband, her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. – Friday, August 30, 2013, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA with Pastor Dawn L. Pederson officiating.  Shirley Bergman and Jen Bistline will provide the music.  Burial will be at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials will be directed to the Jesup Public Library and to the American Lutheran Church in Jesup.
